SU Online Korean Language Institute Personal Information Processing Policy
Article 1 (Purpose of Processing Personal Information)
The SU Online Korean Language Institute processes personal information solely for the purposes outlined below. Personal information will not be used for any purposes other than those specified, and prior consent will be obtained if the intended purpose is amended.
1) Service Provision:
The SU Online Korean Language Institute processes personal information to provide Korean language lecture services, provide information related to lectures, and address associated inquiries.

Article 2 (Items of Processed Personal Information)
The SU Online Korean Language Institute collects and processes the following personal information to deliver its services.

Article 3 (Processing of Personal Information of Children Under the age of 14)
To ensure the protection of personal information children under the age of 14, the SU Online Korean Language Institute prohibits membership registration for individuals below this age.
Article 4 (Processing and Retention Period of Personal Information)
1. The SU Online Korean Language Institute processes and retains personal information in compliance with the retention and usage periods stipulated by the personal information protection Act and related laws or as agreed upon by the user at the time of collection.
2. Retention Period:
1) Personal information related to membership registration and course applications: Retained for 2 years and deleted immediately upon membership withdrawal.
2) Education attendance and completion history: Retained semi-permanently and stored separately.
3) If a retention period mandated by applicable laws, the information will be retained for the duration specified in those laws.
Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)
The SU Online Korean Language Institute does not, in principle, share users' personal information with external parties. However, exceptions apply in the following cases.
1. When the user has provided prior consent
2. When required by law or deemed necessary to comply with legal obligations
Article 6 (Entrustment of Personal Information Processing)
The SU Online Korean Language Institute entrusts personal information processing tasks to external professional service providers to ensure the smooth handing of such information. In accordance with Article 26 of the Personal Information Protection Act, the Institute includes provisions for the secure processing of personal information in entrustment contracts and oversees and supervises the entrusted parties to ensure compliance with safety standards.

o Until the completion of the relevant business or the cancellation of membership.
When entering into a consignment contract, the SU Online Korean Language Institute explicitly requires compliance with safety measures under the Personal Information Protection Act. The institute also continuously monitors and supervises the trustee to ensure proper protection and processing of personal information.
Article 7 (Procedure and Method for Destroying Personal Information)
1. The SU Online Korean Language Institute promptly destroys personal information when it is no longer needed, such as upon the expiration of the retention period or the fulfillment of the processing purpose.
2. If the agreed retention period has expired or the processing purpose has been achieved, but retention is required under other laws and regulations, the personal information is transferred to a separate database (DB) or stored in a different location.
3. The procedures and methods for destroying personal information are as follows:
1) Destruction Procedure:
The SU Online Korean Language Institute identifies personal information subject to destruction and proceeds with its disposal after obtaining approval from the personal information protection officer.
2) Destruction Method
ⅰ. Personal information stored in electronic files is irreversibly deleted to prevent recovery.
ⅱ. Personal information stored in paper documents is destroyed by shredding or incineration.
4. The SU Online Korean Language Institute destroys the personal information of users who have not accessed the service for two years. However, such information may be stored and managed separately from other users’ personal information until the retention period required by applicable laws has expired.
5. Users are notified via email 30 days prior to the destruction of their personal information. The notification includes details of the pending destruction, the expiration date, and the specific items of personal information to be destroyed.
6. If users wish to prevent the destruction of their personal information, they can log in to the service before the expiration date.
Article 8 (Rights of Data Subjects and Legal Representatives, and Methods of Exercising Them)
1. May exercise their rights to access, correct, delete, or request the suspension of processing of their personal information at any time by contacting the SU Online Korean Language Institute.
2. These rights may be exercised through written requests, email, facsimile (FAX), or other methods in accordance with Article 41, Paragraph 1 of the Enforcement Decree of the Personal Information Protection Act. The SU Online Korean Language Institute will respond without delay.
3. Rights may also be exercised by a legal representative or an authorized agent of the data subject. In such cases, a power of attorney must be submitted in the format prescribed in Appendix 11 of the “Personal Information Processing Method Notice (No. 2020-7).”
4. Requests to view or suspend the processing of personal information may be subject to limitations under Article 35, Paragraph 4, and Article 37, Paragraph 2 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
5. If a data subject requests the correction or deletion of personal information due to errors or other reasons, the personal information will not be used or disclosed until the correction or deletion is completed.
6. Requests for the correction or deletion of personal information cannot be accepted if the personal information is explicitly required to be retained under other laws.
7. The SU Online Korean Language Institute will verify the identity of the requester or their legal representative before processing any requests for access, correction, deletion, or suspension of personal information processing.
8. Method of Exercising Rights:
o Requests can be submitted in writing, by email, or via other communication methods to the Personal Information Protection Officer.
o The SU Online Korean Language Institute will take appropriate action without delay.

Article 10 (Measures to Ensure the Safety of Personal Information)
The SU Online Korean Language Institute is taking the following technical/administrative measures to ensure security in accordance with Article 29 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
1. Encryption of Personal Information:
User's personal information is stored and managed in an encrypted format. Critical data is further protected through additional security measures, such as file encryption, encrypted transmission, or file-locking functions.
2. Technical Measures Against Hacking and Other Threats:
The SU Online Korean Language Institute employs security programs and conducts regular updates and inspections to prevent personal information leakage or damage caused by hacking, computer viruses and other cybersecurity threats.
Article 11 (Changes to the Personal Information Processing Policy)
This privacy policy takes effect on the date specified below. In the event of additions, deletions, or revisions due to changes in laws or policies, notice of the changes will be provided at least 7 days prior to their enforcement.
